PNPG Practitioner/Student IDEA Awards
The IDEA Promotion Award recognizes exemplary contributions by PNPG members who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and performance in advancing Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) within pediatric nutrition and related health fields. Two awards will be presented annually: one to a credentialed practitioner and one to a dietetic student.

Practitioner Award:
One $750 award will be presented to a credentialed practitioner (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or Dietetic Technician, Registered) who has been a PNPG member for a minimum of two (2) years.

Student Award:
One $500 award will be presented to a dietetic student who is a current PNPG member and is enrolled in an accredited degree-awarding dietetic education program (bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral) as of the award deadline (March 15th). Applicants must submit materials that demonstrate exceptional performance and leadership in promoting IDEA within nutrition or other health-focused organizations. Accomplishments may include, but are not limited to, advocacy efforts, program development, mentorship, research, education, or community engagement that advances IDEA principles in the field of pediatric nutrition.

Describe how you played a leading role in the profession of food, nutrition and dietetics as a change agent, adapting food, nutrition and dietetics environments and/or enhancing awareness of the need to promote IDEA and cultural understanding. This may include how you set strategic direction, advanced strategies, implements actions and demonstrates outcomes to ensure that goals related to IDEA in the nutrition and dietetics profession are achieved.
Describe any teaching, how you educate and motivate students, professionals and/or the public on IDEA and/or has been a mentor to nutrition and dietetics practitioners of diverse backgrounds.
Describe leading roles in advancing IDEA and cultural understanding efforts outside the work setting and outside the Academy, i.e. outside the national, affiliate, district and organizational unit arena. Highlight publications and authored manuals, books and/or documents that assist the nutrition and dietetics practitioner, student or the public in IDEA as well as presentations on IDEA given at an advanced level, materials/information are presented in an innovative and creative method (consideration should be given to the audience and/or whether the nominee is the featured speaker and/or invited presenter). Detail district (local), state and national Academy or affiliate offices held should demonstrate your dedication to the promotion of IDEA in practice OR non-Academy elected or appointed offices held should show the nominee's advancement of IDEA with nutrition and dietetics practitioners and promotion of IDEA in nutrition, dietetics and food service. Highlight honors and awards for professional achievements listed support the nominee's high level of professionalism and contribution to IDEA.
